Gold Black

The clients presented a blank canvas, seeking a bold, dramatic, and modern design with a neutral, flexible palette. The large room, with soaring ceilings and expansive walls, lacked a focal point due to the angled fireplace and central TV placement. Prioritizing family and photo displays without clutter was key to the couple’s vision.

To establish the fireplace as the focal point, a striking dark wood-look C-Tile in a modern herringbone pattern was specified, complementing the staircase’s dark wood and emphasizing verticality. A sectional with a unique angled end mirrored the fireplace’s geometry, balancing the layout. Additional verticality was achieved with floor-to-ceiling drapery and carefully chosen artwork.

Drama emerged through a wide spectrum of neutrals, layered textures, and geometric elements, seen in hammered metals, patterned fabrics, and sculptural furniture. A curated gallery wall blended family photos with statement frames and accessories, while one-of-a-kind pieces added striking individuality to the space. We proudly call this design “Black Gold,” a nod to Houston’s iconic history.
